Last Sunday we headed up to Ballard for the farmer’s market and to spend some time with Ben’s parents. Both were spectacular as always :)
I wish I had taken more photos at the market. Let me rephrase that, I wish I had brought my camera so I could have taken photos! I didn’t bring my camera to begin with because I wanted to spend my time focused on our family. Family is everything. One of the reasons I wanted to close the bakery was so that I could spend far more meaningful time with friends and family.
I wanted to be able to give them my undivided attention – I was tired of having conversations while I was distracted, stressed, and exhausted in my mind. I thought that if I took my camera I would have been distracted in a whole other sense.
I would have been distracted by all the beauty, excited by every little thing that was new – strange faces, brilliantly fresh food, the dogs (ALL the dogs), homegrown plants… you name it! I love the farmer’s market and I would have spent all my time photographing it rather than living it.
So, the camera stayed home. And as much as I wish I had more photos to share now, I am far happier knowing that the four of us spent an epic Sunday afternoon together living in the moment.Read More
